Everything your cottage needs while you're away

Cleaning, closing and Look-In checks from one local father-and-son business, here on Lake Rosseau all four seasons.

September to freeze-up

Fall Closing

We put the cottage to bed properly, so it's ready to rest for the winter and easy to open in spring.

Closings run from September until freeze-up. Add a winter Look-In plan and take $30 off the closing (we call it Close & Keep).

What's included

  • Dust, wipe and vacuum throughout
  • Fridge emptied and cleaned out
  • Beds stripped
  • Outdoor furniture brought in
  • Mouse-proofing check
  • Garbage out
  • A Keeper's Log with photos when we're done

Water systems, draining and docks go to licensed trades. We're happy to line them up with your OK and let them in.

November to April

Winter Look-In Checks

Regular property condition checks while the cottage sits empty, on the schedule your insurance policy asks for.

Many policies expect someone to go inside an unattended cottage on a set schedule, often monthly for a drained cottage and weekly or more for a heated one. Send us your policy wording and we'll match a plan to it: Monthly, Bi-weekly, Weekly or every 72 hours. Your broker has the final say on what your policy needs.

After every visit you get a Keeper's Log: dated, timestamped photos and notes, laid out so you can forward it to your insurer.

What every Look-In covers

  • Getting in: the lane, ploughing, any tracks, and gates and doors as you left them
  • Outside, by eye: roof line and snow load, ice dams, eaves, windows, fallen trees or limbs, deck, dock and boathouse, propane tank gauge and hydro meter
  • Inside: thermostat reading, any sign of water on ceilings, under sinks and around the water heater, unusual smells, mice or other pests, fridge and freezer running
  • Photos: front door, thermostat, under the kitchen sink, mechanical room, each floor, roof line, dock, and close-ups of anything that looks off

Deep Clean & Turnovers

The once-or-twice-a-year clean, or a reliable reset between rental guests.

Deep cleans get inside cupboards, along baseboards and windowsills, into the oven and the corners nobody gets to on a long weekend. Good before family arrives for the holidays, before you list, or after a big season.

Rental turnovers clean the cottage top to bottom between guests and reset it the way you like it, with photos so you know it's ready. We can book recurring changeover days in advance, for winter rentals and for summer 2027.

Good to know

  • Priced by bedrooms, so you know the cost up front
  • Linen laundry available as an add-on
  • Holiday or same-day turnovers by request
  • Summer weekends book up early, so lock in changeover dates ahead

By the hour

Cottage Cleaning

An extra pair of hands when you need one.

A tidy-up before guests, a hand after a busy weekend, or arrival stocking so the fridge has the basics when you pull in. Booked by the hour with a 2-hour minimum, solo or as a two-person team for bigger jobs.

Popular requests

  • Kitchen and bathroom refresh
  • Floors, dusting and windowsills
  • Beds made up before you arrive
  • Arrival stocking (groceries at cost, with the receipt)

Straight about the limits

What our checks are, and what they aren't

Our Look-Ins are visual inspections with a photo report. That's it, and we think it's important to be clear about it.

  • We look and we report. We walk the property, take photos and write up what we found in your Keeper's Log.
  • We don't do repairs or trade work. No plumbing, electrical, propane, roof, snow or ice work, and no water-system start-up or draining. It isn't a home inspection or a systems test.
  • Emergencies go to you and licensed trades. If we find something urgent, we call you right away. With your OK, we'll contact a licensed trade and let them in.
  • Water and weather. Boat-access visits run in open water only, weather permitting. We never travel on lake ice for work; if a visit isn't safe, we move it to the next safe window and let you know the same day.

Your cottage has a keeper.

Tell us about your place and what you need. We'll come back with a price and dates.
